Lauren the Cartoon Goddess

Lauren the Cartoon Goddess (AKA Lauren Rabinowitz) received her BFA from Parsons School of Design and MA from Syracuse University. She has been working professionally as an illustrator and designer for over 25 years, specializing in digital media. She continues to paint and draw with traditional media, while simultaneously creating digital and motion graphics.  Her artwork has been shown and sold in galleries, boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Her digital production clients include publishers, advertising agencies, large corporations, small businesses and nonprofit organizations.

She got her start in the creative world as a scenic artist in various theaters and feels her current painting style has been heavily influenced by the sets she worked on. As a child, she was profoundly inspired by the graffiti artists of Brooklyn, as well as the classical fine art she observed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and pop art at the MOMA. She is an avid reader and enjoys creative writing.

A passionate graphic arts educator, Lauren has lectured, taught classes, given workshops, presentations and seminars for illustrators, cartoonists, animators and designers at various universities and institutions of higher education, including Brookdale Community College, Middlesex County College, Mercer County Community College, duCret School of Art, Parsons School of Design, Syracuse University and Wilmington University.  She is a member of the Graphic Artists Guild and AIGA.

When Lauren is not busy drawing monsters, she can be found hiking the swamps of New Jersey or exploring the world on her bicycle. Find more Lauren stuff here: http://cartoongoddess.com
