Join us at this FREE jazz concert on October 16, 2022 at 2 PM at the Metuchen Library. Alejandro Ataucusi & Forbidden Tropics band blends Afro-Peruvian rhythms with elements of jazz and will feature compositions from their new album Peruvian Rhapsody. Guitarist and band leader Alejandro Ataucusi is familiar to Metuchen residents. Born and raised in Peru, Alejandro is a graduate of William Paterson University. Metuchen Library is located at 480 Middlesex Avenue (Rt27). Seating is limited to the first 65 guests. Presented by Friends of Metuchen Arts in association with Metuchen Arts Council and Metuchen Library.

The Central Jersey Jazz Festival - Metuchen is rain or shine. I n the event of extreme weather conditions, event will be held at Metuchen High School at 400 Grove Avenue near Middlesex Ave (Rt 27). Notification of any changes will be made by noon on Saturday, September 11.

Look for the Friends of Metuchen Arts table at the New Brunswick Heart Festival brought to you by State Theatre New Jersey.
Join us for the third annual New Brunswick Heart Festival, hosted by New Jersey Hall of Famer Bert Baron and Founder of TSO Productions, Sharon Gordon! The FREE family-friendly festival, which celebrates all of the vibrant arts and history that New Brunswick and the County of Middlesex has to offer, will feature live music and dance performances; a visual art exhibit; craft and food vendors; interactive crafts, activities, and games; fun giveaways; a Health & Wellness tent with Garden of Healing; and so much more! This festival will take place in downtown New Brunswick in front of the theaters at Monument Square at 2 Livingston Ave.
On Friday, August 12, the Heart Festival kicks off with an heART Battle at Above Art Studios. Stay tuned for details.

JAZZ NIGHT in the Parlor at HAILEY'S - featuring THE HARRY ALLEN TRIO
You are invited to join us when a small group of guests - a total of 30 - enjoy the music of saxophonist Harry Allen and his Trio in a special ticketed jazz event in the “speakeasy style” Parlor of Hailey’s Harp and Pub at 15 Station Place, Metuchen NJ, on the evening of Wednesday, July 20th. This special event takes place during Restaurant Week in Metuchen. Doors open at 6 PM and music starts at 7 PM. The price is right: $30 ticket and a 2 drink minimum. Great food, great drinks and 2 sets of great music! Hailey’s Harp and Pub will have specials on their menu in honor of restaurant week!

This performance features music performed by our Adult Chorus, Youth Chorus, and an incredible roster of guest musicians performing selections and highlights from our first five seasons PLUS a new multi-movement work created just for this event -- "Journeys" -- by the incredible choral composer, Metuchen native, and MHS graduate, Gerald Custer.

Wildlife Stories & Arts: celebrating photo books for kids by Gary Westerhoff. Gary, a nature photographer, will give a talk about his photo books. After his talk, we will paint or color wildlife animals while watching his photo books with narration on YouTube.
