For the project, I was excited to do a piece that references the gritty utility of the Railroad that is now the Greenway, while celebrating the life we encounter on this wildlife corridor. The piece started with a walk on the Greenway, noting the birds, trees and animals, we saw. The creatures living along the Greenway can be surprising. I chose Chimney Swifts and a Snapping Turtle. I wanted the sculpture to be a sort of puzzle with fill in the blanks. If you look in the right places, those creatures will fit in the cutouts.
